It’s that special time of year, when the store shelves are stock full of heart shaped boxes and chocolates galore. Seasonal candy is one of my favorites. There is something about limited edition flavors that draws my attention, like no other. My love for seasonal offerings are bittersweet. I will fall head over heels for a flavor just for it to be taken off the shelves without a promise or a guarantee if it will ever return. Sometimes they do but often times, I never see them again.
I was so excited to see the return of Lindt Lindor Strawberry and Cream White Chocolate Truffles. I tried these last year and imagine my surprise and joy to see them on the shelves stocked for Valentine’s Day.
So… let’s dive in!
Packaging: My favorite color is pink and no doubt Lindt’s outer wrapping was encased in it. Little hearts and product photo on the front was a nice touch for Valentines. Each package contained 2 pre-wrapped truffles.
Scent: Delightful! Unwrapping these, I could immediately discern a sweet strawberry scent.
Price: $1.99 per bag.
Texture: Smooth outer shell and creamy truffle on the inside. The picture on the packaging shows a lot of specks on the outer shell but my truffle “balls” only had a couple of them. Not sure what the specks were for other than aesthetic purposes to show it was a strawberry flavor.
Taste: These were heavenly and decadent, just what you would expect from Lindt. The white chocolate is a nice compliment to the strawberry. Neither flavor over powered or competed with each other. Absolutely delicious!
Rating: I would rate this a solid 4 stars out of 5. I typically award 5 stars for products that are repeat purchases. Since this is a limited edition, that’s just not a viable option for me.
